A ride on old Brit bikes

What a difference a couple of days makes to the weather!! Still manage to get out this afternoon for a little trip to the Queens in Marlpool for a nice pint!

On the way back we passed Andy's repair shop which was well worth a photo with 2 of Andy's bikes.

2012!!!

Now it's 2012 and I have moved to a house with a garage!!! The first thing I did was strip the bike down and give it a good clean, which it deserved. Then I change the parts required, new battery, new tyres, fork dust cover and a couple of cables. My mate Grant gave me all the tips and sprays/cleaners I need to do a thorough job. Then  Andy came and bleed my front brake ready for MOT.(Must mention Jim for fitting tyres and ordering parts for me!)

Now its the March and I am ready, have been out nearly every day since I got the MOT!!

THE REASON for this Blog.....

My Bro/Boss called me up on Monday night seeing if I could go up to Scotland this week to work for a couple of days. The first question I asked was did I need to bring my PC.? No he answered! Fantastic I will be up on Wednesday on my Kwak!!!!

So this is it the first proper trip of the year!"! And Why a blog about it?? Because I can see this as the first of many, give me a chance and I'll be there on my bike!!

And so the first trip is to Lanark on Wednesday morning and Back again on Thursday....... We'll see...........

The start of the blog!!

Right, first things first. The reason I am creating this blog is that I am 41 years old an have gotten back into motorbiking again after leaving bikes out for my wife and beautiful daughters (all my own choice and no regrets!!!)

Don't get me wrong I am not a born again Biker!! I don't want the latest fastest machine I can get. In fact I can think of nothing worse than sitting on a colourful piece of plastic and holding on for dear life as the bike accelerate's to a speed in first gear that I do not want to go to in top!!

I have owned my Kawasaki VN750 since 2007 when I brought it off a very good friend.
Up until that point I had only owned a couple of bikes when money allowed and
never got back into wanting to ride for the sake of riding.

Then in 2008 I went to live in Spain and rode over there!! Very cool and a brilliant
experience!. For the first 3 months there I travelled 75miles each way to work. So
I rode an awful lot. At this point the bike had had enough, the drive shaft
collar was worn and so were the fins on the drive shaft so that was it, off the road!!

On coming back to the UK in 2010 I had the bike shipped over, put a cover on it and that
was that.

In the Christmas of 2010/2011 another good friend took the bike to his garage and
sorted problems and gave it a service. All of 2011 I was happy going out when I could.
Most Enjoyable!!
